This warning was made in the largest medical study ever conducted in this context.

In a joint research conducted by Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Australia's Sydney University and France's Sorbonne University, it was reported that the use of ultra-processed foods can have various adverse effects on health.

It was reported in the research that such foods that are consumed in excess increase the risk of heart disease, cancer, diabetes type 2, mental illness and premature death.

It should be noted that ultra-processed foods are processed many times during preparation and they are high in salt, sugar and other artificial ingredients, while the amount of nutrients beneficial for health such as fiber is very low.

Ultra-processed foods include double roti, fast foods, sweets, toffees, cakes, salty snacks, breakfast cereals, chicken and fish nuggets, instant noodles, sweet syrups and sodas, etc.

It goes without saying that many people nowadays consume ultra-processed foods on a daily basis.

During the research, 45 research reports on 99 lakh people were analyzed.

In the research, it was known that the use of ultra-processed foods increases the risk of 32 diseases related to nervous system, heart, stomach, metabolic and mental health.

The researchers said that the higher the intake of these foods, the higher the risk of developing serious diseases.

According to research, the use of ultra-processed foods increases the risk of cardiovascular disease such as heart attack or stroke by 50%.

Similarly, the risk of suffering from anxiety and other common mental diseases increases from 48 to 53%, while the risk of suffering from type 2 diabetes increases to 12%.

It was further reported in the research that the risk of death due to any cause increases to 21% with excessive consumption of ultra-processed foods.

The risk of depression is 22% higher, while obesity and sleep problems increase the risk from 46 to 66%.

In the research, the evidence of the relationship between the use of ultra-processed foods and the health of the digestive system, some types of cancer and cardio-metabolic health was also discovered, but according to the researchers, these evidences are limited.

Experts said that it is clear that ultra-processed foods are very beneficial for our health.

The results of this research have been published in the British Media Journal.
