Mitchell Starc breaks Wasim Akram's record, becomes the most successful left-arm fast bowler in Test cricket

fast bowler Mitchell Starc has made history by becoming the highest
wicket-taker left-arm fast bowler in Test cricket.
Mitchell
Starc took three wickets on the first day of the second Ashes Test on Thursday,
taking his Test wicket tally to 415.
With this
historic honor, Mitchell Starc has also broken the record of Pakistani fast
bowler Wasim Akram, who took 414 wickets in his Test career.

Aaron Starc, known as Mitchell Starc, born on January 30, 1990, is an
Australian cricketer who represents the Australian national team and New South
Wales in domestic cricket.
He is a
left-arm fast bowler and a lower-order left-handed batter, but is Australia's
fourth-highest wicket-taker in Tests and One-Day Internationals. Mitchell Starc
began his international career in 2010, but injuries affected him greatly in
the early years.
He came to
prominence worldwide during Australia's victory in the 2015 Cricket World Cup
and was named the best player of the tournament due to his outstanding
performance. He was also part of the team that won the 2023 ICC World Cup.
In the 2019
World Cup, he took 27 wickets, the most in a single edition of any World Cup.
This made him the highest wicket-taker in two consecutive World Cups (2015 and
2019). As of November 2023, he was the third-highest wicket-taker in World Cup
history.

Starc also holds the record for being the fastest to take 150 and then 200
wickets in ODI cricket, which he achieved in 77 and 102 matches respectively.
He is also the fastest bowler to take 50 wickets in a World Cup, which he
achieved in just 19 matches.
