Offer of
a temporary ceasefire and Imran Khan's
After
Maulana Fazlur Rehman, now Imran Khan has also offered cooperation to establish
peace with Afghanistan. However, Pakistan has agreed to a ceasefire for 48
hours at the request of Afghanistan.
According to
the ISPR, Afghan Taliban and Fitna al-Khawarij carried out attacks in the Aspan
Boldak area of the Chaman border district of Balochistan and the Koram sector
of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Pakistan Army thwarted these attacks and claimed to
have killed 45 to 50 attackers. Several check posts and tanks were also
destroyed in the retaliatory action.
Meanwhile,
PTV reported that after these clashes, Pakistan attacked several targets in
Kabul and Kandahar and the Afghan army suffered heavy losses. It was only after
these attacks that Kabul requested a temporary ceasefire, which was approved
for 48 hours according to the information of the Foreign Office.
It is
believed that Pakistan will make it clear to Afghanistan in these two days that
action should be taken to end the basic problem, otherwise this war could be
prolonged. The current tension between Pakistan and Afghanistan has once again
been initiated by Afghanistan.
Earlier, on
the night of October 11-12, the Afghan Taliban launched an unprovoked attack on
Pakistan. 23 Pakistani soldiers were martyred in this military operation, but
the enemy also suffered heavy casualties. The Pakistan Army had said that
Pakistan had temporarily captured about nine Afghan posts. The Afghan Defense
Ministry’s position was that the attack was carried out in response to
Pakistani airstrikes on Kabul on October 9. The Pakistani army did not accept
responsibility for the attack, but did not deny it either.
The Afghan
Defense Ministry had announced a ceasefire a few hours after the attacks on
Sunday night, saying that we have achieved our objectives, and that we will not
fight if we are not attacked. Pakistan did not accept such a ceasefire, but
calm remained on the borders for two days. Before the attacks that took place
this morning, it was hoped that the two countries would now agree to a
permanent ceasefire.
Afghanistan
has not offered any position on these incidents and has not explained why
attacks were carried out once again in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after
declaring a ceasefire. Perhaps the internal conflict between different groups
of the Taliban occupying Afghanistan has led to the opening of a front against
Pakistan. There is a lack of consensus among Afghan leaders in making
decisions. In addition, sensitivities were not taken into account in choosing
the time. On Sunday, when the Afghan army launched a war on the Pakistani
border, Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi was visiting New Delhi and some
controversial statements were made there. The Kabul government created an
environment of unnecessary debate by launching a war against Pakistan on this
occasion. Relations between Pakistan and India are extremely cold. There were
military clashes between the two countries in May. And recently, India's
military and political leadership had made unnecessarily aggressive statements
against Pakistan.
